About LaserSculpt

Who is a good candidate for LaserSculpt? - How LaserSculpt Works - Traditional vs Laser - FAQ's - LaserSculpt Safety

Laser Lipolysis is cleared by the FDA and offers effective results through minimally invasive techniques.

Each year, more and more men and women seek treatment to change the appearance of their body by removing excess fat. For many years, this was achieved through liposuction, the most popular cosmetic procedure in the US. As new techniques developed, different methods became available to help minimize the risks and downtimes of traditional liposuction through safer and more effective methods.

LaserSculpt is a network of the best doctors using FDA cleared laser lipolysis devices to perform a less invasive alternative to conventional liposuction that offers fat reduction, skin tightening and body toning/sculpting through the most cutting-edge technology. LaserSculpt uses laser energy to rupture and liquefy fat cells before easily removing them from the body. This laser energy will also tighten the skin, leaving it smoother and firmer than before!

LaserSculpt using FDA cleared laser lipolysis devices, offers effective results through minimally invasive techniques. The first laser lipolysis device was cleared in November 2006 after extensive use in other countries around the world over the past 10 years. Laser Lipolysis has quickly become one of the most successful liposuction procedures in cosmetic surgery. Since its FDA clearance, thousands of Laser Lipolysis procedures have been performed in the US. LaserSculpt is a network of the best and most talented doctors performing this procedure.

Liposuction has been performed for decades through conventional methods that require injecting fluid into a certain area and then suctioning the fat out. This procedure is performed mostly under general anesthesia and carries risks such as infection, excessive bleeding and blood clots. Tumescent liposuction, also known as lasersculpting, was later offered as a safer alternative that required only a local anesthetic and "inflated" the fat before removing it. This procedure lets patients stay awake during the procedure and assist the doctor in completing the fat removal.

The LaserSculpt doctors are the best trained and most experienced. After purchasing their Laser Lipolysis devices , doctors must undergo extensive training from a designated professional trainer. This helps ensure that only the most experienced and educated doctors can perform your LaserSculpt procedure. Through training, education and experience, the LaserSculpt doctor can deliver the best and most satisfying results.

The LaserSculpt procedure is designed for use in local areas of the face and body, and is effective in treating the:

  • Waist
  • Chin
  • Thighs
  • Hips
  • Buttocks
  • Arms
  • Face
  • Back of neck
  • Front of neck, under chin
  • Pubic mound
  • Cellulite

It is more effective than conventional liposuction in treating areas once considered challenging, including the neck or jowls, and works best on smaller areas of fat. LaserSculpt can also be used to treat cellulite by disrupting the fat cells and tightening the skin in the area.

Depending on the patient's height and weight, up to 8 different areas can be treated during one LaserSculpt session. Thinner patients can treat a higher number of areas while those who are heavier may only be able to treat up to 3 different areas. These numbers can vary and the ultimate decision is left to the doctor.

Most patients only need one treatment session of LaserSculpt, which takes 45 to 60 minutes to perform. There is minimal downtime after LaserSculpt, and many patients can return to work immediately after the procedure, although one to two days of rest is recommended. LaserSculpt is often referred to as "lunchtime liposuction" for its effective convenience.

After LaserSculpt, most patients only experience minor aches and pains, whereas the effects of general anesthesia during conventional liposuction result in longer recovery times and severe fatigue.

Results are often visible immediately after the LaserSculpt procedure, and will continue to improve over the next few months. The injection site usually heals completely in this time as well, concealing any indication that laser liposuction was ever performed.

The results of the LaserSculpt procedure are considered permanent, and will last as long as the patient maintains a healthy weight. Significant weight gain after this procedure can result in the remaining fat cells increasing in size, so it is important to maintain a healthy diet and get regular exercise to help prevent unwanted fat from returning. LaserSculpt should be viewed as a new lifestyle and not just a cosmetic surgery.

As with any procedure, LaserSculpt does include certain potential side effects such as bruising, burns or discomfort. These effects are usually mild and temporary. LaserSculpt offers less risk than conventional liposuction thanks to the elimination of general anesthesia and smaller injection site.
